June 4, 2011 . . . Clayton, New York

Our second visit to Clayton placed us on the same dock we visited before.

We had a snack at Bella's, then dinner, then lunch. A great place to eat and watch "The River", the St. Lawrence.

Just across the river from Bella's is the remains of the castle built by Charles Goodwin Emery, who, amoung other things, was the developer of the cigarette rolling machine.

One of the highlights of the stop in Clayton is the River Rat Cheeze. Bonnie has made her selections and we are ready to get off to church.

We returned to the River Community Church to find that the minister we liked so much was no longer on the staff; a real disappointment.

Departing Clayton for Gananoque we looked back on Bella's and the crowd that was surely there to send us off . . .
